If you’re looking for safety in unsafe markets, dividend stocks are always a good idea.

That’s because dividend stocks can help smooth out the volatile ride of the market.

Plus, the companies that actively pay dividends are considered to be some of the strongest. What makes some of the leading dividend paying stocks even more attractive is that many are wildly inexpensive at the moment. All after the recent tariff-induced slump.

Here’s a closer look at some of the top names catching the most attention.

Exxon Mobil (XOM)

Oversold shares of Exxon Mobil (XOM) now trade at early 2024 lows.

It’s also excessively oversold on RSI, MACD and Williams’ %R. From its last traded price of $103.14, we’d like to see it closer to $120 near term – which can easily happen given how oversold crude oil prices have become at around $62 a barrel.

The latest pullback also drove XOM’s dividend yield to about 3.85% — which is higher than the current 1.4% yield on the S&P 500.

Pepsico (PEP)

We can also look at Pepsico (PEP), the $198 billion food, snack and beverage company.

Oversold at triple bottom support dating back to early January, it’s also starting to pivot higher. From its last traded price of $144.43, we’d like to see an initial retest of $160 near-term.

Even better, the company already announced it will increase its dividend by another 5% in June, which gives PEP a forward yield of about 4%. Plus, it’s in a strong position to boost that dividend even more after generating $12.5 billion in net cash in 2024.

Enbridge (ENB)

With a yield of 6.15%, Enbridge (ENB) holds the second-longest natural gas pipeline in the U.S., North America’s longest crude oil pipeline, and a high-growth, renewable power generation business.

Helping, analysts at Citi just initiated a buy rating on the ENB stock, which believes the company is well-positioned to benefit from global energy demands. In addition, as noted by Investing.com, “The firm’s analysts emphasized that Enbridge has consistently exceeded global energy demand growth by 400 basis points, a trend they anticipate will persist.”
